My Dad has three children, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He also has two
brothers, the youngest Raymond is on GTS also. Dad had a devasting stroke on the 1st June 2002 and
sadly left us on the 1st September 2002, which for him was a happy release. He is missed by all of
his family and friends

Its coming up to your birthday and wedding anniversary Dad and its at this time we were told by the
hospital doctors that all treatment was being withdrawn and that you would only be given palliative
care. Now was the waiting, no longer just visiting but waiting for the time that you would leave us.
Oh such long days and nights they were.

This time seven years ago was to be the last day that we spent with you. You in a deep sleep and us,
waiting, just waiting. It was hot to as it is today, I have never liked late August since then. From
now until after your funeral was a complete blur to me and I remember so little of it.

This day seven years ago was the day of your funeral and that was pretty much a blur apart from when
we were travelling to the crematoruim. I had the sudden'Oh no, have I shut the dining room door or
Jesse will start on the food'. Luckily I had so Jesse the cat got nothing.Apart from that I really
dont remember much, of the service or the gathering back at the house. I remember feeling half an
orphan a lot though. What to do with your ashes Dad? Mum still has them in a cupboard and we are
thinking maybe to scatter them on the River Arun, not far from where you were born. We think that
you would like that.

I had a lovely weekend at The Christmas Market at the weekend Dad. It was sooooo crowded though, not your cup of tea! All very pretty and German. xxx
